    I have always been pleased with this bank until I got my debit card stolen. After I reported the incident they were very helpful in the Beckley branch until for some reason they passed my case onto a lady named Stacy Wilcox out of the Cross Lanes branch. She was highly unprofessional. I called her everyday for 3 weeks and never got an answer from her, a call back from her, and she even hung up on me after I told her my name. So not only did I not get reimbursed $693.00 but I have no clue what is going with my case because I cannot get an answer from her. IM HIGHLY UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED!

    Messed up our taxes in 2016. We didn't find out until 2017 when H&R block fixed it. We called to ask for the fees refunded since it is posted on their signage "Maximum refund or money back." We were told numerous times that a check had been sent out but if we don't receive it by the following Tuesday to call back. Then were told that the owner can't issue a check until November 15 to wait til then to call back & that we did. Now no one will return our calls or even answer the phone when we do. Voicemail is full. We understand that people make mistakes, but that is when you make it right & not continue to brush it off as if it's gonna pass by. Better business bureau is getting contacted as well as contacting the main office of Jackson Hewitt. This place doesn't deserve 1 star!

    Absolutely worst mortgage experience of my life. I have had two mortgages through United Bank back when Kathy Joines was running the show. Now they have some young people that don't know what they were doing. We were lied to and taken advantage of. We moved out of state on the word of an inexperienced mortgage loan officer named Charles Turner. Everything was completed for the mortgage and then 8 DAYS before our closing he calls to tell me that we don't meet the minimum requirements of the loan we were trying to get. Even though we had been given multiple pre-approval letters from him for multiple homes stating that we did meet the MINIMUM requirements. The best part about this is that we didn't meet the minimum requirements for a loan that we currently still had on another property! After being told this I asked what we did qualify for with 20% down and Charles said, "Sorry we can't help you at all." Both myself and my realtor tried contacting Jeff Miller, Charles Turner's direct supervisor. He never once responded to our phone calls or emails. Absolutely worst experience of my life. United Bank's joke of a mortgage department cost us thousands of dollars in material damages. I had a friend that was purchasing a home through them as well and low and behold the same sort of thing happened to them. They were able to still close and use United but the closing took almost 3 months! In the end I kick myself for going with this bank. This small bank had a great old time charm at one time but is quickly crumbling. Talk about customer service. Still haven't received any calls from Jeff Miller.
